A vision - a group of ladies/coworkers attended the Animal Care Expo hosted by the US Humane Society to learn and apply sensible solutions to and for at risk cats and dogs in our community. We've grown considerably in size and knowledge since 2014.
This rescue travels near and far to help those most at risk from puppy dumps to cats with litters on the brink of euthanasia. In partnership with the local shelters, KPF hosts several Puppy/Kitten Bottle Feeding classes, in addition to emergency subcutaneous fluid training. We are known as a "Behavioral Foundation" that assists on-call with emergency evaluation and recommendations for steps towards re-homing or sanctuary lifestyle.
We focus on making the maximum positive effect by providing food, shelter and wellness to at-risk dogs and cats. Adoption is our goal. However, adoption may not be an option for free-roaming/feral cats. In these situations, TNR (Trap, Neuter and Return) s the best option. For those unable to be returned, they are kept in sanctuary living space
